EXAMPLES OF ERRAND FEES

GO WITH ERRANDS

Sue wants to go by the post office to pick up stamps, then go to bank to cash a check and finally stop by grocery store to shop for a few groceries. Sue pays for groceries with her own money. The trip takes 1 hour and 30 minutes. Total miles from pick-up to drop off are 15.

Fees:

1st hour        $15.00

30 minutes    $5.00  ( 2 x $2.50)

mileage        $5.25  (15 x .35)

Total             $20.25

In this example, it doesn't matter how many stops are made or how many items are bought.  this is billed strictly by the hour and the money comes from Sue, not G2G so there is no fee for purchases.

SHOPPING AND GO FOR ERRANDS

Example 1

John wants G2G to shop at Shaw's and wants 5 cans of tomato soup, 1 gallon of milk, 6 bananas, 1 each of gala apple, honeycrisp apple and red delicious apple and 4 granny smith apples. He lives 4.6 miles from Gilford Shaw's by Google map shortest distance.

Fees:

1 stop        $5.00

6 items       $2.50

mileage      $1.65

Total           $9.15 does not meet minimum so will be $10.00

There is a $10.00 minimum fee for any shopping or "go for" errand. The fees for this order did not add up to $10.00 so the $10.00 minimum is charged. John pays this plus the total of the store receipt for his groceries. There are 6 unique items. 5 cans of the same soup or 5 bananas each only count as 1 item. He wants 4 different types of apples so each type counts as 1 item.

Example 2

Rose wants G2G to go to Market Basket for 17 items and to Walmart for 6 items including a 40 lb box of cat litter and a 16 lb bag of cat food. Rose lives 2 miles from Concord Walmart which is the closest of the 2 stores to her home. Market Basket is 3.7 miles from Walmart

Fees:

Stop 1         $5.00

Stop 2         $2.50   (money stop)

23 items       $5.00

heavy item     $1.00 (15-25 lbs)

heavy item     $2.00 (25-50 lbs)

mileage         $2.00  (5.7 miles total)

Total             $17.50

Mileage for multiple stop errands starts from the store that is farthest away and allows for most direct route. The number of items fee is calculated across all stores, not a fee for each store.

Example 3

Kevin wants G2G to go to the Hardware store to pick up 5 items, then to take those to his friend's house who lives 4 miles from the hardware store. Then he wants G2G to go to Target  which is 1.3 miles from his friend and pick up 21 items, then Dollar Tree which is .5 miles from Target for another 6 items. Finally he wants G2G to stop at Olive Garden which is .7 miles from Dollar Tree  and pick up an order that he calls in and pays for himself. He wants this stop to be last. He lives 4.5 miles from Olive Garden.

Fees:

Stop 1        $5.00

Stop 2        $1.50

Stop 3        $2.50

Stop 4         $2.50

Stop 5         $1.50

32 items      $10.00

mileage       $3.85  (11 miles total)

Total            $26.85

This order has 5 stops total, 3 money stops (Hardware store, Target, Dollar Tree) where G2G is purchasing items for him, and 2 non-money stops (his friend's house and Olive Garden) where there is no money transaction involving G2G. Now if the friend wants to pay Kevin for the items and gives G2G money to pay for them he will be given a receipt from G2G as well as the store receipt. Kevin will be informed that he is not responsible for the cost of the goods (although the G2G fees are still his responsibility) but this will still be considered a non-money stop

Example 4

Mary wants G2G to bring her cat to the vet and drop her off for a surgery. The cat will not be brought back to Mary on this day. The vet's office is 8 miles from Mary's house.

Fees:

$10.00

This is a 1 stop errand. It is a non-money stop; however, the first stop is charged at $5.00 whether it is money or non-money. With the mileage at $2.80 it does not reach the minimum so it will be a straight $10.00. Payment must be made at tie of pick up since there will be no returning to Mary's house after the errand.

Example 5

Ryan wants G2G to take his dog to the groomer. The appt is 45 minutes long. While the dog is at the groomers, Ryan wants G2G to go to the store and get oreos, milkbone biscuits and a bag of potatoes. He then wants the dog and groceries delivered to him. The dog is on the groomers managed monthly plan and does not have payment due at the time of the appointment. There is a delay in the dog being ready of 15 minutes. The groomer is 4.3 miles from Ryan. Ryan does not care what store is shopped and the closest store to the groomer's is .6 miles. The shop takes 30 minutes total from driving to store, shopping and returning to groomers.

Fees:

Stop 1       $5.00

Stop 2       $1.50

Stop 3       $1.50

Stop 4        $1.50

3 items       $2.50

waiting fee  $3.75  (1 x 15mins)

mileage       $3.43  (.35 x 9.8 miles)

Total           $19.18

In this case there are multiple stops and only 1 is a money stop. Whether this is the first stop or not it will be counted as stop 1. There are 3 stops concerning the dog. Stop 1 is to pick the dog up, stop 2 to drop him off at the groomers, stop 3 to pick him up again and bring him home. Since the shop only took 30 minutes there was a 15 minute wait for the dog.

Example 5A

The next month Ryan wants G2G to take the dog to the groomer and just wait with him until he is done. It takes 45 minutes again.

Fees:

Stop 1         $5.00

Stop 2         $1.50

waiting fee   $11.25

mileage        $3.01 (.35 x 8.6)

Total            $20.76

You can see how it is more cost effective to have G2G run another small errand while your pet has an appointment
